Players of Nymburk did not succeed in the 5th round game of the NLB League by loosing 57:77 to Slovenian team Krka Novo Mesto. The result of the game was decided already in the first quarter which Nymburk lost by 17 points. Important point was an injury of Nymburks long time key player Petr Benda, who sat on the banch more then half of the game.

For Krka it is return to NLB League after a one year break, for Nymburk it is premiere
season, and Slovenians showed they belong to the league. By they precise defense they
allowed the home team only nine points in the first quarter while having a great shooting percentage. The result was the 17 point difference after ten minutes of the game while the difference increased later to 22 points. Nymburk woke up in the third quarter and pushed Krka to the corner. After nine points in a row Nymburk decreased to only 5 point advantage for Krka, but crew from Novo Mesto came back to the game and made it back to 20 points advantage.

"We were struggeling from a first minute of the game. We had some chances to come close but did not use it enough." said Neno Ginzburg, the headcoach of Nymburk, on the post game press conference.

"I was not happy with 10 minutes of the game tonight. We knew the quality of Nymburk and we appriciate the win because we know there will not be many teams
winning on this court." replied Krkas headcoach Aleksandar Dzikic.

NYMBURK

Current champion of Slovenia Krka Novo Mesto will introduce themselves to Czech spectators in the 5th act of NLB League. This duel will be last for next two months on the court of Nymburk, since next 14 games will be played either on the court of Nymburks opponents or on the so called “second home of Nymburk”, in CEZ Arena Pardubice.

“We will face the team that plays really well on defense. I think they are the toughest team out of all we have met this season. Maybe not considering their roster, but definitely best considering the way they play.”, says coach of Nymburk Neno Ginzburg. The three times Slovenian champion will come to the game with 2-2 record while Nymburk wants to get back to the winning road as it has 3-1 record after the loss from last week in Zadar. Krka has one victory less then Nymburk, but the losses they have were very close, in Ljulbljana they lost by one, and with Cedevita by four on the home court.

“We have to improve some things from the last game in Zadar. We have to improve rebounding, aggressiveness on defense and make better decisions in some moments.”, comments Ginzburg on what should be the key for his team to get victory on Saturday nights battle.

KRKA

Novomeščani so si z zanimanjem ogledali posnetek dvoboja med Zadrom in Nymburkom, njihovim naslednjim tekmecem v ligi NLB, ki je v Dalmaciji pred tednom utrpel prvi poraz v sezoni in s katerim zaključujejo uvodni niz težkih dvobojev s Cedevito, Unionom Olimpijo in Zagrebom. Na Češko so se odpravili v petek popoldne.

»Tokrat gostujemo pri moštvu, ki igra zelo organizirano košarko, največ pozornosti pa smo posvetili Chesterju Simmonsu, njihovemu prvemu strelcu, ki drži ritem napada. Pri Čehih sicer nevarnost grozi z večih koncev, saj imajo dobro postavljeno igro, a po drugi strani je prav njihov nastop v Zadru pokazal, da so krvavi pod kožo in da zmaga tudi ob gostovanju na njihovem terenu ni nedosegljiva,« je prepričan najstarejši v Krkinih vrstah, 34-letni dirigent igre Simon Petrov, ki se je sicer v uvodnih dvobojih še nekoliko držal v ozadju.

»Preprosto mislim, da rabim še nekaj tekem, preden bom ujel pravi igralni ritem. Nasploh celo moštvo iz dvoboja v dvoboj napreduje, naše napovedi, da bomo pravi šele v drugem delu sezone, so bile, kot kaže, pravilne. Mnoge stvari v igri pač še ne tečejo kot bi morale, zlasti v obrambi, medtem ko se v napadu vidi, da prihaja do občasnih nesporazumov pri prenosih žoge, kar je po prenovi moštva in ob mladih igralcih logično. Ne pa zakrbljujoče,« je Petrov prepričan, da so ob uvodu izpolnili svoje cilje: »Štart je pričakovan, resda bi nam veliko več pomenilo, če nam ne bi spodrsnilo na gostovanju v Tivoliju, a smo to nadoknadili z zadnjim uspehom proti Zagrebu. Ko bomo povsem pognali kolesje, se lahko povečajo tudi naša pričakovanja.»
